CHI-SI was founded in January 2001 by Pradeep Henry (pradeephenry.com) to bring user interface and usability knowledge-share into the large software development community in India. CHI-SI achieves its objectives primarily through its annual national conference . CHI-SI is chartered by ACM, the US-headquartered parent organization. For efficient administration, the Chapter is focused in one geographic area (Chennai), but its events and membership are available to the whole country. In case you wondered, both "CHI" and “SI” rhyme with "pie."

CHAIR: Pradeep Henry pioneered Process-Centered Design (PCD), which is a business process driven approach to developing business applications and user interfaces.

Formerly director at Cognizant Technology Solutions, Pradeep now offers his own consulting and training services.

Pradeep is author of a book and several influential articles -- all published in the US. He has been an invited speaker at public, corporate, and academic events in the US and in India. Also, he has been interviewed by Forrester Research and media firms including CIO-India, The Times of India, and The Hindu Business Line.

In 2001, Pradeep founded CHI-SI and India's annual national user interface conference. He has organized and chaired seven years in a row.

Naveen has extensive experience in Product Development and ERP Presales spanning Peoplesoft, Oracle, SAP, and MS Dynamics.

Naveen's past experience includes the position of Vice President at Bank of America in the US.

TREASURER: MG Thomas is an enterprise architect and founder of C-Star Consortium, which is a network of highly experienced business/IT consultants.

Formerly, Thomas headed software development, quality/process, and IT groups at TCS, Futuresoft, and Aricent.

Thomas has led several strategic organization-wide initiatives such as ERP rollouts, CMMI, ISO 9000, People CMM, Balanced scorecard, ISO 27001 (Information Security), TL9000 (Telecommunication), and Knowledge Management.
